It has come to our attention that some 'scammers' are using our name to load malware onto people's computers while claiming to upload virus cleaning software.

The Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness has not contracted any organization, either directly or indirectly, to provide virus protection software or services on our behalf. Nor does the CCEP have any plans to launch this or similar programs.

The CCEP would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone not to divulge user names and passwords or allow anyone direct access to your computers without fully researching a company and verifying their credibility. REMEMBER: if the request for access comes unsolicited, chances are it is fraudulent.
