Gian is Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Director – Emergency Management and Business Continuity Division (EMBCD). In this corporate role, he is responsible for managing the EMBCD Programs and integrating the various functional elements such as HR (Health and Safety, Labour Relations, etc.), Physical and Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Environment, Corporate Affairs etc. In 2006, Gian took over the overall lead for rolling out the Pandemic Influenza Plan throughout OPG. OPG declared pandemic operational readiness at the end of 2007.

Gian has over 32 years of Electricity Power sector experience in all aspects of Project Development, Design, Construction and Operations. In the last 12 years he has been involved in a number of corporate wide continuous improvement initiatives such as management systems implementation of ISO 14001, 9002, Heath and Safety and Business Continuity.

Gian currently represents OPG on various external organization and working groups, including: Independent Electrical System Operator (IESO) – Emergency Preparedness Task Force, IESO Crisis Management Response Team, Canadian Electrical Association’s Critical Infrastructure Working Group, and Conference Board of Canada’s Council on Emergency Management (Currently Chair of Steering Committee). Gian is also frequently invited to speak at Local and International conferences on the subject of Emergency Management and Pandemic Planning.

Gian's hobbies include golf, skiing, home improvements and wine making. He is married with two daughters.
